Process My process of producing a final print is pretty simple: 1. Use the best equipment. There is a reason professional grade cameras and lenses cost more, it's called quality. 2. Use Photoshop to bring out the best in the image. It's just a digital version of a traditional darkroom folks. 3. Print with professional grade inkjet photo printers using archival, pigment inks. 4. Only print on high quality paper designed specifically to produce high-end prints. 5. Use archival, acid-free matting, backing, packaging, and framing materials. 6. Present you with a beautiful, hand-crafted print that conveys what I want to say and that will last for generations without fading or deteriorating. All images start as a digital file produced by high resolution, professional grade cameras and lenses captured on location. From there the image is processed in a state-of-the-art digital darkroom using Adobe Photoshop©. Color corrections are made, contrast and/or saturation is adjusted to suit my tastes and to match my emotional experience when I made the initial digital capture, selective lightening and/or darkening of certain areas of the image are made (dodge and burn), the image is "cleaned up", meaning I remove any dust spots, beer cans, cigarette butts, and anything else that is a distracting element or that I didn't see or couldn't remove at the time I made the photograph. Yes, I "edit" my images. For more on this read my statement here. The bottom line is I use only the best equipment and materials to produce what I consider an outstanding print that I am proud to put my name on. After all, since I only use archival materials your print is going to be around for quite a while, and I don't want you to posses anything with my name on it that isn't first class.
